Should I Let Him???

October 28, 2010

Dawson and his best friend Ollie

Dawson wanted to be a Zombie for his Preschool Halloween Party :/ Should I let him? Well he would not change his mind, I tried. I was really worried that he would scare some of the other kids, but Miss Jodi understood! I could not believe that he wanted to wear it because it was huge on him. It was a size 12. I thought he looked pretty cute :), oh I mean pretty scary!! Notice Dawson's friend Ollie had a normal costume for a 4 year old. I guess you get a zombie 4 year old when they have older brothers.

My cute Zombie with out the mask!
Miss Jodi and the Preschool Zombie...
I love all the fun memories that little ones create. Dawson is always making sure we have something funny to remember. So grateful he came to our family :).

The Awesome Mohawk....

October 18, 2010

Dawson was pretty proud of himself... he had done his own hair for the first time!! He thought this mohawk was really cool. It was a bit wet still, but he did a great job!!
I love my little buddy :)

Just For The Heck Of It...

October 16, 2010

Nope this colored hair is not for Halloween, it is just for the heck of it. I am trying to let loose and not be such an uptight mom. So when Dawson begged to get hairspray to color his hair red I said okay :/. Here is the evidence that I am not always uptight. Jada decided she wanted in on the action also. Other than it ruining Jada's shirt, and turned Dawson's car seat all red... it was a great idea. Dawson was sooo happy with his colored hair, so it was all worth it :).

Happy Birthday Mom

October 17, 2010

Happy Birthday to my Mom!! I won't say how old she is (67), that would be just rude :). You never reveal how old a Lady is, so don't even try to get me to tell... you can't make me.

We had my Mom over for Enchiladas and Cake for her birthday. Lorrin, Tahnee and Taden also came. It was lots of fun. I just want my Mom to know how much I love her! She is the Greatest :). I am very blessed to have her in my life. She is always there for all 10 of her kids, no matter what. She never takes time to worry about herself. She is the most selfless person I know. She is such a great example to me, and I hope I can be half the Mom she is. My kids could only be so lucky.
Let's not forget what a great Grandma she is :)
Thanks Mom for all you do for me. I love you!!

Going to Primary and Cleaning the House = Making Sugar Cookies!

October 14, 2010

Dawson has a hard time sitting in Sharing Time with his class. Since I am in the Primary Presidency and sit in the front he always wants to stay with me :(. So to get him to go to class, I promised him we would make sugar cookies. My idea worked, he agreed :). We didn't make them for a few days. One day Dawson just started cleaning the house :). Everyone else just sat there while I cleaned, but without being asked Dawson helped. He really did such a good job! He did not even need to be told what to clean. He just kept cleaning. I was the happiest Mom in the world!! He actually is my best helper around the house. So I decided he definitely deserved to get to make the cookies! So we made them that night. It was fun because it was the kids Fall Break.
Dawson was so excited...
he was the only one who got to actually help make the cookies.
I gave him some dough to play with...
he used almost every baking utensil he could find!
Let the frosting begin!!
Brayden and Jacob
Jada's final product!
This Sunday Dawson still didn't want to go to class, so I promised cookies again :/. It was harder to convince him this time because he wanted to makes sugar cookies again. I can only handle making those once or twice a year, and there has to be a BIG gap in between! So he finally settled on Chocolate Chip Cookies! I better come up with a better bribe, but I was tired of dollar store toys.

Picnic With Dawson

October 13, 2010
Dave was home from work because of a headache, so we decided to take Dawson to lunch. We thought he would be so excited. Well, we took him away from his friend Paisley, so he just wanted to hurry. We took him to McDonald's, but he didn't want to eat there. So we said okay, lets go to a park and eat and play. Nope, he just wanted to get back to Paisley. So we decided to take the food home, and eat on the deck. This is where Dawson ate and put his new toy from his Happy Meal together :)
Yep, he thought it was way more fun under the table!
Deep in thought...
where exactly should he put the stickers on his new Lego car?
All finished!! He was very proud, and what a good job he did. Then he was gone... off to Paisleys :(. Our fun afternoon with Dawson was short but sweet. I guess we should be glad that he has such good friends!

Cascade Springs

October 10, 2010
It was such a beautiful day for 10/10/10, that we thought we would spend another Sunday afternoon up the canyon to see the beautiful changing leaves. We went up American Fork canyon, and went to Cascade Springs. It was an amazing drive!
Wow... I do love living in Utah.
The mountains are BEAUTIFUL!!
Dawson got upset that I would not let him stand behind Dax in this picture (then I wouldn't be able to see him), so he would not be in the picture at all. When he gets his mind made up about how he wants something, there is no changing it.
Many of leaves had already fallen, but it was still beautiful.
Notice that Dawson always has a crazy face...
We can rarely get him to just smile
It was about 5:30 pm, so the colors didn't look as brilliant without the sun shining on them.
Dawson had to have me get his picture on this crazy tree stump :) I am so glad he enjoys having his picture taken.
Dax said it was better to not have him looking at the camera for this picture. When he looked at it, he said "see, I look pretty legit." That is his new word for cool or awesome... I think? He was defiantly right, he does look very legit!
Braydens very legit also :)
This beehive was ginormous... it was really crazy!
I love our wonderful kids :). This was such a great way to spend a fall Sunday afternoon.

Pumpkinland Field Trip

October 7, 2010
Dawson had his first Preschool Field Trip today. We went to Pumpkinland pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun. It was a perfect day. The weather was in the 60's, and was great with a jacket. Dawson and his friends loved ever minute of it.
This is both of Miss Jodi's classes combined...
Look at all of those crazy faces :%
Dawson loves Miss Jodi, especially since she introduced him to the Hokey Pokey :) That is his very favorite part of Preschool!
I love how Dawson's friend Ollie is holding his nose in this picture. Those goats Really did stink :(. We all ran away as fast as we could as soon as I took this picture.
Dawson and Ollie are such good buddies :)
(Ollie, Dawson, Caleb, A.J., Jon and Gentry)
I love this picture, they were sure enjoying themselves :)
Two cute little boys trying to sneak a peak through the corn at the next cool adventure at the pumpkin patch!
This was a lighted spook ally, it was very cute!
Next up, the play ground...
Finally, the long awaited picking of the pumpkins :)
Dawson picked the perfect pumpkin!
I am so glad that I got to go with Dawson. We had such a great time! At first I was kind of bummed that I was not going to get my alone time today that I get while Dawson is at Preschool. However, I had too much fun with Dawson. It was worth missing those few hours of peace :).
