Summer is Finally Here :) .... Or So We Thought :(

We are so excited for summer! The kids are very excited. So this week we really kicked off summer with some fun activities :).

June 7, 2010
We bought a pass to the pool, which we will use a lot! We had a great time. It was pretty warm, but it will be even better when it is really hot outside.
Our littlest guy!

We still have a Zoo pass, so we went yet again! Dave can not understand how I am not bored with the Zoo. I love it! It is relaxing (except for my fighting kids), it is beautiful, and you are getting exercise. We went with the two little guys I babysit. It was the perfect day, not to hot and not cold :).
Bryce, Brady, Dax, Brayden, Dawson & Jada

Dax really wanted to be hanging out with his friends ...
I sure love him for coming!
This was probably the last time I will get him to come with us :(

We finally broke out the fire pit! Oh how I love my fire pit :) It is so much fun. Our neighbor Kim came over and hung out with us. Good company, and good smores! Ahhh...I love summer!

So as you can see we are very excited for summer, only to wake up this morning to this....
Dark skies, Rain, and temperatures in the 5o's :(. Lets just say this is very disappointing. Oh and lets not forget the very strong wind. Please just let summer come... and stay!

Memorial Day 2010

May 31, 2010
For Memorial Day, Dave decided to take us fishing! This is an activity our family has not done too often. We had a great time :). We just went up to Vivian Park, it was perfect. We caught 6 fish. I think all the kids caught one, and a couple caught two. Our cousin Aiden came with us, Brayden was so very happy he was visiting! The weather was perfect, except for it was a bit windy. It was very relaxing. I mostly just read, and Dave did all the work of helping 5 kids. What a great Dad :). We fished for about 4 hours.
Dave getting everyone ready to fish!

Daxton was good at helping Dave, good thing he was because I wasn't :)

Brayden was the one most excited to fish!

Daxton says that I take way more pictures of Dawson than anyone else...

... hmmm ...

I don't believe him... do you?

Dax, this is for you, see how many of you there are...

No more whining Dax, I love you just as much :)

What a good Dad!

Brayden catching his first fish for the day...

The fish were not very big, so we just threw them back,
not to mention I don't think anyone would really eat them in our family :(

I was surprised Brayden would hold the fish :/

Our cute Jada Babe!

She was so excited, but takes after her mom and did not want to touch it!

Dawson catching his first fish ever!!

Dawson's fish being reeled in

Dawson also takes after Me and Jada :)

Dawson got brave, and let Dave hold the fish fairly close :)

Dax was really beginning to hate fishing, it took along time for him to catch one :(
Dax just informed me that this is the very first fish he has ever caught. He has been fishing 5 times, and never caught anything till this day. He said that is why he was hating fishing. Good thing he caught one this time. Otherwise he may never have gone fishing again!

Look how happy he was once his patience paid off :)

Aiden was the very last to catch one. He is such a good kid.
He did not complain even once. He caught it in the last 15 min we were there :)

See, I did fish for a second... okay that is long enough!

I think I will go back to my reading :)

Thanks Dave for taking us fishing! It was alot of fun, and very relaxing up in the mountains :).

Then we went to Grandma Hamilton's for a family BBQ. It was great food, and great company. After the BBQ, we went to the cemetery, and visited my Dads grave. I am grateful for Memorial Day to have a day to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us.

Brayden and Aiden had so much fun together. We love when Aiden visits!

It is hard to believe it has almost been 2 years :(

I miss my Dad everyday. I could always talk to my Dad when I had a concern, and he always knew just what I needed to hear. I sure miss not being able to ask for his advice. One of his most famous sayings to his kids was, "This to shall pass". That was frustrating to hear all the time, but the funny thing is eventually all trials pass. It was funny how he was right so much of the time, even though I did not want to admit it. I just want to say I love you Dad, and I miss you so much!!
