Wicky Bash 2009

My cute sister Wendy started a tradition of a yearly Easter party called "The Wicky Bash". We call it the Wicky Bash, because some of the grandkids call her Aunt Wicky. She hosts and plans it every year. Let me tell you, she goes all out. She spends all her own money, and when I say spends, I mean she spares no expense. She goes crazy! It is incredible what she does, and this is the 9th year she has done it. My kids look forward to it every year!! Thanks for all you do Aunt Wendy, we love it!

(Aunt Wendy)
The first requirement for participating in the Wicky Bash is everyone has to wear Bunny Ears (or a flower headband)!
Anyway, we have a big dinner together, and then the festivities begin!!! It all starts with the highly anticipated Easter Egg Hunt. The youngest always gets a bit of a head start.
Here is everyone going through their baskets, checking out their goods! In some of the eggs Aunt Wendy puts numbers, then everyone gets a prize. You get to choose what prize you want. Who ever has #1 gets to choose first, and so on.
(Here is Aunt Wendy passing out the prizes from the Hunt)
Here is Dawson going up to choose his prize. He chose a package of puddings. I have never seen a kid so excited over pudding!
(Very proud of his pudding!)
Next is the Bunny Hop! Wendy plays the bunny hop music, and who ever is judged the "Best Bunny Hopper" gets a prize. Then on to the coloring contest. Wendy sends out pictures to be colored in advance of the Wicky Bash. Each kid then brings their art work to be judged. There is a prize for the best coloring. Jada won this contest. She won a beany baby. Believe you me there are many prizes given away. Next there is a Bunny jumping contest.
(Dawson preparing to jump his plastic bunny)
The last contest is who can hit the baseball the farthest. Don't be fooled...this is not a normal baseball bat. Aunt Wendy buys a carrot bat and ball. Daxton won this contest. He won a very big chocolate bunny. He was happy, he says he has never won anything at the Wicky Bash. He just does not remember. He won the coloring contest one year.

(Here is my nephew james with the carrot baseball bat)
Here are some pictures of the adults hanging out. It is always nice to get together and visit.
Me and my sister Becky. She just got the puppy in her shirt from the Easter Bunny!Dave & IMy cute Mom & Niece Elora
Last but not least was a visit from the Easter Bunny!! Yes, the Easter Bunny comes every year to the Wicky Bash. Wendy hand made this whole costume. She is amazing, very creative. Her husband Ken is the Bunny every year. :) Thanks for being such a good sport Ken!
(Dawson)(Brayden)

(Jada)(Dax)(Everyone enjoys the Easter Bunny!)
The Wicky Bash is always great fun. Wendy almost didn't do it this year because alot of the grandkids are getting old. We are very glad she decided to do it at the last minute! We are so grateful to Wendy & Ken for all the fun memories they provide for our family. Thanks guys!

Easter 2009

Well I am posting this a bit late, but Happy Easter! We had a great Easter, and hope you all did as well. First we started the morning with the tradition of the kids waiting on the stairs, so that I could get pictures of them all together. Also, so I can video tape them coming down and seeing what the Easter Bunny left. Here is what the Easter Bunny left, not to mention the tons of candy hid all around the main floor of the house. The Easter Bunny even left the movie "Bolt". The kids were so excited! After everyone finished checking out their baskets, we started the hunt!
After we finished the hunting, we rushed to get ready to make it to church. That 9am church is tuff, especially when you have to fit in an Easter Egg hunt. Surprisingly we were on time, barely...
Here are the kids in their Easter outfits for Church. I am so glad that Daxton will at least let me get him a matching tie. He is a good sport!
After church, we went to Grandma Hamiltons for Dinner and another BIG Easter Egg Hunt. I will have to make that my next posting. We had such a great Easter!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Here we are in our annual ritual off coloring eggs for Easter. I thought about passing it up this year, but my kids would not hear of it. They love coloring eggs. The good thing is they all love hard boiled eggs, so they don't go to waste. The kids had so much fun, and the clean up wasn't too bad.Daxton got everything ready for the coloring. He did all the mixing of the colors, and set it all up. I sure am loving having older kids who can help. It really makes things so much easier. Thanks Dax for being such a big help to me!!
(Dawson pushing Dave away so he could do everything by himself)
Dawson was so worried about anyone trying to help him. He is so independent now (that is not always a good thing). Dave had put down some of our cleaning towels on the table. By the end of the coloring session, the towel in front of Dawson was very colorful.
(This is just the beginning of Dawson coloring the towel)
Here are pictures of everyones favorite eggs. Some of the kids could not just choose 1, so they choose their 2 most favorite!
(Dawson 3 yrs. old)(Brayden 8 yrs. old)
(Jada 10 yrs. old)
(Daxton 12 yrs. old)
I love my cute family. They sure make life GREAT!! Love ya guys!

Brayden's Star Wars Collection.......

Call me crazy! ;} I am one of those stupid moms that get just as excited about toy collections as the kids. Brayden has this collection of the little chunky Star Wars guys that he just loves. He (or I should say we) started to collect them about 5 years ago when he was 3yrs old. So he gets new ones for all his birthdays, Christmas, basically anytime I can find a legitimate excuse to buy them. Brayden is pretty proud of his collection, and wanted me to take pictures. So I thought I would showcase Brayden and his collection on our blog!
The good news is they get much use. All of the Brayden's friends love to play with them, and Dawson will inherit them. Plus I will keep collections like these for my grandkids! There I go justifing were all this money is being spent. Oh, I forgot to mention there are a couple of other kinds of these chunky guys. He also has the Spider Man & Transformer collections.
PARENTS BEWARE!!! Do not fall into the same trap that I did. Do not start collecting these. It is addicting. Also, Littlest Pet Shops are addicting, but I will save that for another time!

Finishing Our Deck & New Patio Furniture!!!

Well I haven't posted in awhile so I have a few things to post. First we finally have our deck finished!!! Yay! Well, it is finished for the most part.... there are a few more little touch up things to do, but we are able to use it. I love it. It is so much fun! Dave wants to build a pergola over it, but I said "there is no way we are building a pergola before I have patio furniture to sit on and use our deck." Well that worked. He agreed to get some furniture.
There has even been a few okay... days to use our new furniture! It really is so much fun.

I was so excited to get our furniture, and the kids were so excited to help put it all together. So I had to get some picutures.
Who knew that patio furniture could create such a mess? The kids had so much fun with all the boxes.(Jada & Dawson made a store out of their box. They sold friendship braclets from their store)

Well after we got it all together the weather was really yucky, and we did not want to put it outside until we got a cover for it. Needless to say, the chairs stayed in our kitchen for a couple of days. It was alright because they are so comfortable, so we enjoyed them indoors for a bit. I have to admit the chairs make for a great office chair. Ha...Ha...

Yes, they are actually on top of our island!
