Fishing At Silver Lake Flats

September 7, 2010
Dave decided we should go fishing as a family, and he heard about a great place to fish. I wanted to take a picnic, but Dave said we didn't have time to eat up there because it gets dark so early now. So we grabbed some taco's from Del Taco, and headed up to Silver Lake Flats. What he was not informed of, is that it was not right off of the main road. Nope, it was a 3 mile very bumpy dirt road. Let me just tell you 3 miles seems like forever when the road is that horrible. Dave was right, we would not have had time to picnic thanks to that dirt road :(. Anyway, we finally made it and it was beautiful :).
Jada is great... she doesn't really care about fishing,
but she always comes and finds ways to entertain herself!

(Brayden and Dawson)

(Jada, Dax and Dave)
Getting ready to start our adventure. Daxton doesn't enjoy fishing that much either... he never catches anything :(. Still he will always go, what a good son!
(Dax, Jada and Dawson)

Here are the two people in our family who really enjoy fishing. I am glad that Dave and Brayden have something they really love doing together. Dave is just sure if Dax could have a good experience fishing that he would enjoy it also. Hopefully that experience will happen soon.

It was so beautiful, but it started to get cold as the sun set.

Here is the clown of our family. Dawson always wants me to take tons of pictures of him being silly :).
That's our Dawson... always making us laugh :)

(Dave, Dawson and Brayden)

Heres to hoping for a good experience...

We were sitting around, and here comes this deer...

I guess it needed a drink so badly, that it didn't care that we were there.

Dax really tried to enjoy fishing...

Dawson even tried fishing...

Me and our Jada Babe... she is getting so grown up!

Me and my honey!!

Even Jada is willing to fish. I guess it is just me that has no interest.

Still trying...

They finally tried fishing off of the little damn... This is were Dave and Brayden finally caught some. Poor Dax... nothing :(.
Here it is... yes this little tiny thing. Who ever gave Dave the information that this was a great place to fish, was WRONG. However... we did have a great time as a family. I am glad that Dave had the idea to go fishing. It is always a good day when you can spend time with the family :).

Two Years Already :(

Today it has been 2 years since my dad passed away :(. I have to admit I can not believe how fast time has gone. I still miss him all the time! I thought I would post a few of my favorite pictures of my dad.

Wicky Bash 2005

This is one of my favorite pictures :). This was Christmas, and this is what my Dad always did when he visited. He would nap with his best pal Reagan :).

September 5th is my Dad and sister Wendy's birthday. This year we decided to get together, and celebrate for my Dad. It was so much fun. Well, maybe not so much fun for my mom. Becky thought we should have enchiladas since my Dad loved them so much. However, it is a pain to make 15 of them. My Mom actually about lost her marbles in the cooking process. She was laughing and crying at the same time. Poor Mom! I must admit that they were very yummy, and I am sure Dad would have enjoyed them.

Out on the deck waiting to eat!

It was the perfect day, the weather was beautiful

Mom realized she was almost out of eggs, so she decided to scramble them so everyone could have some. Becky and I kept telling her no, so when she got the chance she hurried and scrambled them :(. We were both sad. So Becky had hid an egg to make her fried egg, but mom hurried and scrambled it also :). Ha...Ha... Becky! It was pretty funny, Becky was bummed!!

Mom is getting pretty sneaky in her old age :).
Ha...Ha...

Wendy was pretending that Dad was there, and she was giving him a kiss!

See Dad was at the party, his spirit made the camera blurry...
okay, maybe it was a smudge on the lens... but I like thinking it was Dad!!

(Wendy, Grandma, Dawson, Me, Becky and Corey)
Mom finally finished the cooking process, and we could all enjoy ourselves!

Happy Birthday Wendy and Dad...
We love you!

(James, Wendy and Becky)
Everyone visiting...

(Elora, Taylor and Corey)

(Me, Taden & Andrew)
It is always a great day for me when I get to hold a baby :)
Thanks Lorrin and Tahnee for always sharing Taden with me!

(Jada and Tinka)
Jada wants a dog so bad, but Dave and I hate animals...
So Jada always has to take advantage of spending time with everyone elses dogs.
Poor Jada :(

I am so grateful for my family and the good times we have together. I want my Dad to know how much I love him and miss him! Love ya Dad!!

The Long Awaited Trip to Tennesse :)

My sister Liz has been trying to talk me into driving to Tennessee for a couple of years now. Well, this summer we finally took the trip :). Liz even drove to Utah first so that I could follow her back. She was worried that if she didn't that we would not come. So lucky us, we got to spend 3 weeks with her in Utah and a month with her in Tennessee. We had an awesome trip! Thanks so much Liz and Brian for everything you guys did for us!!

Dave did not come with us, so he spent a month without his family:(. He did not like it one bit. It was a 3 day drive out, which was not bad at all. Considering we took our car and not our van :(. Dave and I did not think the van was reliable enough, so we all packed into the car. We put Dawson's car seat in the middle of the back seat, and that kept the two in the back from fighting too much. The drive out was not bad, because at least 2 or 3 of my kids were always riding in Liz's van. The drive home was not quite as pleasant, but it was actually not that bad.

The first day we did not make any sight seeing stops. We drove about 12 hours! Oh, I should mention that when we hit Sydney, Nebraska, we hit the worst storm I have ever driven through. It was so scary. I was just picking up my phone to call Liz and tell her I thought the weather looked like tornado weather, when my phone rang. Liz said that she had just talked to a hotel in the area, and that all the hotels were full. There were two storms hitting at the same time, and there were tornado watches in the area. It was raining and hailing so hard you could not see anything in front of us. The lighting never stopped. To make matters even worse, we were both close to empty and needed to get some gas. Each gas station we found had closed because of the storms, and the whole town was flooding fast. Not to mention a train had derailed, and cops had closed off a lot of streets :(. Finally we found an open gas station, and the attendant told us she would hurry and get out of the area. Dawson was in Liz's car crying he was so scared. We decided to keep driving in this horrible weather, and get out before any tornadoes hit. I was saying so many prayers. We were very blessed to get out of all that scary weather safely. We got to our hotel at about 11 pm, at let the kids swim. What a day!!

Church History Sights in Missouri

FarWest
There was not too much to see in FarWest. There was this book store, and the temple grounds which has all four cornerstones laid (no temple yet). We drove about 70 miles out of our way to see these sights, and were pretty bummed that this is all there was :(.
Dax 13 (days away from 14), Jada 11, Me, Brayden 10, and Dawson 4

My Sissy Lizzy and her two girls!

Liberty Jail was worth stopping for. It was so neat to hear what to see!

My camera is having issues :(

This was inside the Liberty Jail, it was incredible to hear what Joseph Smith and the others went through. They suffered so much. I was grateful that my kids could hear this incredible story from the missionaries. We were blessed to be able to see these sights!

This is a replica of the Gold Plates

This was the RLDS visitor center across from the LDS visitor center. It was a really cool looking building. It was a big spiral at the top. My camera was still having issues :(

We got to the LDS Visitors Center and it was closing in 10 min. They gave us a very quick tour, and we were out the door :(. Wish we would have had more time. Oh well, at least my camera took a some what decent picture of the Christus!

We drove about 12 more hours this day... it went very fast!
